Nestled between the Cantabrian Mountains and the Atlantic Ocean, Camping Playa Joyel is a lovely site with direct access to a beautiful sandy beach with crystal clear waters.
If you can drag yourself away from the beautiful beach, there's plenty to do on site for the whole family, including a pool, tennis courts and games room. There's an underground disco in high season, as well as a small on site zoo where the little ones can meet ducks, goats, deer, pigs, peacocks and chickens among other animals. The campsite is just a short walk from lively Noja, where you can dine, shop or have a great night out.
The wetlands surrounding the campsite are part of the EcoPark Trasmiera nature reserve. Bring the binoculars and admire the bird life including mallards, coots, purple herons, spoonbills and curlews. Tregandín beach is another golden sandy beach nearby. Further afield, take a trip to Santander via ferry from Pedreña and visit the Royal Summer Palace and gardens. Wander the cobbled streets of the medieval town of Santillana or head to the Parque de Cabârceno zoo to see the exotic birds, less than an hour's drive from the campsite.
