Camping Bois du Bardelet is a beautifully landscaped campsite set in the countryside of the Loire Valley, a few kilometres from the town of Gien. The peaceful setting makes it ideal for couples or families with young children looking to enjoy a relaxing holiday.
Within the spacious grounds there are two lakes with canoeing and fishing available. Facilities are first-class with a children’s playground, multi-sports pitch, tennis court, mini-golf, fitness room and spa. Bike hire is also available – ideal for spending a day or two exploring the region by one of its many cycle paths.
The ivy-clad stone restaurant and bar, with outdoor decking overlooking the lake, offers a wide choice of regional specialities and wines of the Val de Loire. In the summer months evening entertainment includes live music.
Local area
Just 15 minutes by car from the campsite is the town of Gien, situated on the banks of the Loire River. The town is best known for two things - its long history of pottery production and the Château de Gien situated in the centre of the town. Make a trip after dark when the bridge and castle are beautifully floodlit.
If you are looking to travel a bit further afield, Orléans is about 40 miles North West. Here you can enjoy a stroll through the ancient streets of the city, do a bit of shopping or enjoy a meal in one of the many restaurants.
Finally, if you get the chance enjoy a day out to Disneyland Paris – roughly a 2 hour trip from the campsite.
